As a child I always loved it when my grandma used to sing for me. I may be getting on a bit now (yeah, got there before you did !) with kids of my own, but I still remember her standing me on the kitchen worktop as a toddler, and singing "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head." Listening to that song now has so much meaning: it gives you a message of looking on the bright side and not letting things get you down. Children are very impressionable and things you teach them when they're young really stick with them forever. Teaching language by singing or reciting ryhmes really gives your children an opportunity to learn in a fun way. Showing that learning can be fun is also a valuable lesson... This website is a way of passing on our songs, rhymes and stories to our children. As it's so special, and inspired by my grandparents, it is dedicated them. Hope you like it ! |

Lots of fun to get wrong, time and time again. My kids love these weird sounding rhymes and find it impossible to know what I'm talking about, let alone repeat ! Here's my eldest son's favourite (just what is a peck of picked peppers anyway ?): Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked ? |
